Funding For Sight And
Hearing Care…

The Northwest Lions Foundation provides funding for individual vision and hearing assistance, and for hearing and vision projects by Lions clubs and other organizations, through the Northwest Lions Foundation's Patient Care, Project Support, and Lions Hearing Aid programs.

The Patient Care Grant Program offers matching funds raised by local Lions Clubs for hearing and sight related costs that cover everything from seeing–eye dogs to braille readers to prosthetic eyes — The Northwest Lions Foundation will match, dollar for dollar, expenditures made by Lions clubs to help low–income individuals get sight and hearing treatment they otherwise can not afford.

The Project Support Grant Program provides financial support to vision and hearing related improvements in Northwest communities, such as:

  • Vision and hearing research.
  • Vision and hearing loss prevention and rehabilitation.
  • Equipment to establish and operate facilities that improve the vision and hearing welfare of the general public.
  • Public relations campaigns that result in awareness of the importance of vision and hearing care and treatment available to the public.
  • Vision and hearing care equipment requests matched by a local Lions Club.

The Lions Hearing Aid Program provides hearing aids through participating providers to eligible patients who are sponsored by Lions clubs. The Foundation pays 12, and the sponsoring Lions club the other 12 of the provider's invoice for the hearing aids, after a $5000 copay from the patient.

Forms, Instructions And Resources

IMPORTANT! Grant applications must be submitted through a Lions Club. The Northwest Lions Foundation can not accept or respond to grant applications from any person or entity other than a Lions club located in Washington or Idaho — You are not eligible for a grant unless you have a Lions club sponsor your application.

There are nearly 400 Lions clubs in Washington and Idaho. You can find a Lions Club in or near your community on the Lions International website.
